Dr. Anil K Ratty, Executive Director
More than 25 years in the area of neuroscience. Held various scientific and corporate positions in Buffalo General Hospital (USA) Roswell Park Cancer Institute (USA), Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (Singapore), DMRI (Min of Defence, Singapore) Fisher Scientific SEA (Singapore). Founded several start-ups including Chakra Biotech (Singapore), Cerca Insights (Malaysia) and Cicada Cube (Singapore). Cerca Insights was sold to a US-based company in 2014. Co-inventor of several patents and has more than 20 scientific publications. Has worked in science and industry in the US, Japan, South-East Asia, India and China.
Mr. Arthur Klausner, Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director
A seasoned life sciences venture capitalist, Arthur Klausner has a total of close to 20 years of experience at Domain Associates (1990-2004) and Pappas Ventures (2005-2009). During that time, he has been involved in the investment in and subsequent nurturing of a variety of biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. He was last CEO of Gem Pharmaceuticals, USA. Arthur Klausner is currently a board member of Monopar Therapeutics as well as Gem Pharmaceuticals and has been a board member at Santarus (IPO in 2004, Nasdaq: SNTS), X-Ceptor (acquired by Exelixis in 2004), CeNeRx BioPharma, and Syndax Pharmaceuticals (IPO in 2016, Nasdaq: SNDX), and a board observer at Peninsula Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2005) and Cerexa (acquired by Forest Laboratories in 2007).
Mr. N. Sreenivasan (“Sreeni”), Lead Independent Director
Managing Director of Straits Law Practice LLC, a full service law firm with over 35 lawyers established in 2001. He pursued his legal education on a Public Service Commission scholarship and graduated from the National University of Singapore and worked in the Singapore Legal Service before entering private practice. Over the past more than 30 years, Sreeni has had extensive practice in most areas of commercial litigation. In 2013, Sreeni was appointed Senior Counsel of the Singapore Academy of Law. He was member of the Board of Directors of UMS Holdings and is presently Board member of FSL Trust and chairman of the Board Q&M Dental Group, all of them listed on the SGX mainboard.
Mr. Sim Guan Seng, Independent Director
Mr. Sim has over three decades of experience in accounting and auditing related fields. He started his career in 1983 at Arthur Anderson as an auditor. In 1987, he joined G K Goh Stockbrokers (S) Pte Ltd as an operations manager, and was in charge of financial accounting compliance as well as general management. From 1992 to 2004, he established a sole proprietorship under the name Sim Guan Seng & Co to practise as a chartered accountant. In 2004, he merged his practice with Baker Tilly TFW (formerly known as Teo Foong Wong LC Loong) and in 2010, became the Managing Partner of Baker Tilly TFW LLP. Mr. Sim is also an Honorary Consul of the Republic of Botswana, as well as a board member of the Singapore Accountancy Commission. He also serves as the audit committee chairman of the NCC Research Fund as well as the Community Cancer Fund. Mr. Sim obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore in 1983. He is also a practicing member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and a certified internal auditor (as conferred by the Institute of Internal Auditors).
Dr. Prem Kumar Nair, Independent Director
Dr. Nair has nearly three decades of experience as a medical practitioner and more than two decades of experience in healthcare management. After graduation in 1986, he served the Ministry of Health as a house officer from 1986 to 1987 before completing his national service as a medical officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy. He then underwent training in Family Medicine in the Ministry of Health before joining Raffles Medical Group Ltd in 1991, initially as a family physician and subsequently served Raffles Medical Group Ltd in various senior management positions in areas such as primary care operations, corporate marketing, business development and talent management, before becoming the general manager of Raffles Hospital in 2012 (in which role he served until 2015). He last served as chief corporate officer from 2011, as well as managing director from 2015, until his retirement in 2017. Dr. Nair is also the vice-chairman of the school advisory committee for Cedar Girls Secondary School, as well as the chairman of the anti-inhalant abuse centre review committee and the vice-chairman of the board of visitors of the Community Rehabilitation Centre of Singapore Prisons. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded a National Day Award, namely, the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal), in 2010 by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Service to Education Award in 2015 by the Ministry of Education. Dr. Nair graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1986. He also obtained a Master of Business Administration from the Manchester Business School in United Kingdom in 1994.
